You say not much 1to 2 hp on a yaris from stock to k&n filter, but did you also remove the rediculous stock built in filter in the top compartment of the Toyota air box. Its white 1/4 inch thick in the top of the box, you have to break the plastic rivets to remove it, otherwise its still restricted just like stock. Ive removed it on every Toyota ive owned, and installed the K&N, I know my vehichles run better than stock because ive tried them against stock. So yes restriction does matter, most people have never noticed the filter in the top of the box. JM2C

You're wrong and right your ignorance of fluid dynamics is very obvious

The Just Jap intercooler is one of the poorest fitting intercoolers for something that is marketed as being a direct replacement (even with the outline of “some” modifications being required). Several modifications, removal of stock mounts, and fabrication of brackets are required for it to be adequately mounted. You’d be better off spending the money on getting a plazmaman.

I was told by one of the aftermarket companies(which didn’t even offer a cold air intake) and a couple of very reputable Type R tuners…that the factory Honda Type R cold air intake setup just worked the best so bolting on anything aftermarket was for more noise/cosmetics. When you think about the amount of money Honda spends on research and development especially on a car such as the Type R…it makes sense.

Herman, I need your expertise on my build I'm trying to do, I have a r33 gts4 s2 4dr(gtr 4wd/2wd drivetrain from factory), I'm wanting to use the prp block and head for my build but use a nitto 2.8l stroker kit and I'm just trying to figure all the details like the buckets and cams and possible upgrades like the 4wd sump(I don't want to go dry sump if I can avoid it) my hp goal would be 750hp in 4wd but have all my parts 1000hp capable, hope you see this

Key point. Make sure your catch can allows your engine /pcv system to breathe as well as it did without it. Otherwise you'll have worse problems to deal with..

just curious, was that R8 coil genuine? it might be just the shot, but the top looks blank where it should have parts numbers etc, commonly seen on knock offs.

My 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, long bed has the TRD Performance exhaust system. I noticed a fair amount of increase horsepower and torque after adding a cold air intake onto my Tacoma. Another boost in horsepower and torque came from the Overland Torque Tune. Because of the cold air intake and the OTT, my Tacoma now produces 318 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque, while giving me better fuel efficiency.
